I can honestly say that in his 8.5 years of life, my son has never heard me use a bad word. I even try to discourage him from using words like "hate." I want him to be a better person than me [not that cussing makes you a bad person].

I say you should teach your kids that many people think it's rude to put your elbows on the table, but I also think you should tell your kids that it's a stupid rule that they should follow in public for the sake of social expediency but shouldn't take seriously in private.
