I agree that tipping is silly but that is probably cos its not a thing here but I don't agree with the Tory-esque "work harder" comments.

Your attitude toward me specifically isn't the issue. It's your sneering elitism towards everybody in my position.

You don't come to us for lavish service. You come to us for speed, convenience, and cheapness, things you don't get at other restaurants. We give you that. If you don't value that then we shouldn't be obligated to wait on you any more than anyone should have to do something for someone who doesn't appreciate them.

Why would anyone be so keen on someone grating their pepper and cheese? Are you six? Is the waitress your mother? You can't do that **** yourself? I know it's a thing but I'd feel weird in that position, like I was committing some kind of crime by elevating myself so above another human being that it was right that they should grate my ****ing parmesan. And yet not only are you totally comfortable with this but it's one of the key things you expect and demand of anyone who wants your 20%.

I walk into a FF joint and they have a menu on the wall with prices for each item. I pay the price listed. This makes me a conservative corporation cad? That's quite the stretch Bat.

Because in some places you don't have a choice. The waiter brings your meal and then pulls a pepper grinder and/or cheese grater out and asks if you'd like some. I answer yes because I like pepper and cheese. That's just the way it works sometimes - they don't leave those items on the table. You have to be "served" them. You gonna blame me for that too?

There are at least a few countries where tipping is considered to be extremely rude, but as far as I know those places also pay their people normal wages. Here in the U.S. that's not always the case. I also think it's dumb that if you happen to order a more expensive meal that your tip should be proportionally larger, but that's just the norm. I usually do small tips for just "doing your job okay" service and if they were especially attentive or engaging in some way then I'll tip them higher.

The incident to which you're referring was a LONG time ago, has absolutely NOTHING to do with this and I don't remember getting slammed to the ground.

My [at the time] wife [not "baby mama," this isn't an episode of Maury] was having an episode of mania due to her bi-polar disorder and schizophrenia. When the cops were called due to her causing a disturbance in a public place, acting crazy, having been up for like 10 days straight, drinking, being on meds and wanting to drive, one of the cops was a friend of hers who disregarded all protocol and just shot the shit with her. When I questioned this, her male partner tried to play tough guy and threatened to arrest me if I said one more word, which I, of course, proceeded to do. Then I ran away from him and left, rather than assault the piggy and go to prison. Don't remember getting slammed into the ground by him. Maybe a little tussle, but that was it. Maybe I misspoke about it before or remember it differently now, a decade later.

Also, if you are going to cherry pick bad memories from my life to pepper in to later conversations when they have absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand, just to get your jollies, then you can eat a dick, fry boy.
