Because the in-existence of a creator or a meaning or purpose puts responsibilities for your life in your hands rather than in the hands of god or a plan. And how is the overweight McDonalds worker who's constantly trying to make a case for KMK and ICP going to tell me I'm white trash?

Meaning schmeaning. You're alive for now, so do something with it.

AKA create your own meaning.

Camus said it was the most important question:

whether or not you should just kill yourself

Everything dies. It's nothing special.

It's the idea that it comes down to a choice between life and self inflicted death that seems a bit melodramatic.

I'm only a third or less through his book on this exact subject, so I don't know yet how far he's going to take things (as in what sense he meant that well known statement to be taken). So far, it's been more of an examination of the basic positions of other absurdists.

I don't get how people who ascribe to absurdist ideas can be such try hards in trying to appeal to a social hierarchy. You'd think that if you really were a nihilist or absurdist you'd realize that your personal taste doesn't mean **** to anybody but yourself so to act is if people are better than others over such superficial things goes against the philosophy. Then again I don't read so what'd I know about existential philosophy and the pretentious **** heels that read it.

I can see what you mean. There can be a contradiction there.

Whoa there! Cool it with those insecure displays of anti-intellectual ranting.

Pretty obvious decision in your case.
