I drive the speed limit now that I’m old.

Elph strikes me as the kind of guy who treats merging like a game of Frogger.

All this talk of speeding reminds me of a story.
I was going out to meet some buddies of mine in the city one day this past summer. I was, as usual, running a bit late. I ended up having problems with my car's transmission about half a mile down from my house, making me need to go back. I left in a different car only for me to realize at about the same distance, so I went back to get it. I discovered that my wallet was in a deep crevice in my pocket the whole time, and I essentially wasted my time for nothing. Feeling a bit peeved and running about 20 mins late, I pull out of my driveway for the third time. Now I live in a country town on a road that runs along Lake Ontario (not Oswego, that's just where I'm going to college), and the speed limit on it for the most part is 55. I usually go 60 mph down it, but seeing as I was running late I was going about 63, which is generally normal for most drivers on it. But with a 55 there's always a chance for pieces of **** to be going like 30 down it and impeding everyone else behind them and being generally inconvenient. Sure enough, an old couple in their 60's Mustang were just cruising down the road at 30 mph, while there's me trying to haul ass and get to where I'm going. My anger got kinda the best of me and I ended up yelling "F**KING OLD F**KS" inside my car at top volume. As soon as I said it they did the thing where you pull off the road to let someone go by, and it was only a few seconds after I passed them that I realized my windows were half-open and they probably heard me screaming at them. I'm about 3/5 ashamed of what I did. |

Speeding from peer pressure is a real thing

I've only ever been flipped off while driving when I banzai merged over four lanes of traffic on a seemingly deserted highway and almost killed us both. I think he overreacted tbh.

Do they do the thing where they speed up when you turn on your blinker so that they don't lose the race?

I've never been flipped off or flipped anyone else off (I actually have a legit fear of road rage incidents, a few years ago a friend of mine got into it with a dude over a parking space and ended up being shot dead), but I did sprain my thumb once trying to honk so hard at someone who cut me off

Entering a six week program for addiction. Four hours a day, four days a week. That's ninety six hours total for you math challenged folks. Less than a ten minute drive and fully covered by my insurance. Actually kind of excited about it!
(ok, that was just wrong)

The AC in my car burned out unexpectedly when I got in the car to drive two hours home yesterday. The heat was brutal.
Took it back to the dealership today (I bought it 10 months ago) and they charged me $130 to tell me that I had $2000 in repairs required to pass inspection next month. The replacement AC unit will take another week so I'll be driving around in the scorching heat for the next week. And I'm out the full $2,000 as the car only came with a 90-day warranty. Not the best day. Canceling my plans to order SotL vinyl.
