That's the part I really wouldn't want to do. Not a drunk driver but I had a guy hit me last year and luckily he had insurance. Otherwise I'd have had to cover it out-of-pocket or go to court with him (screw that).

well I think it was because I was the first one there and called the cops. I don't own the building so I don't really have any monetary stake in this, itd be more to prove he was guilty of dui. id assume in your case the other guy wouldn't want it to go to court (if he didn't have insurance) and would rather pay you out of pocket

yeah as far as I know he didn't hit anyone, and he was fine. his car had a long scrape on the side tho so he hit something before our building |
