Yeah, I've been looking it up, and there are many different factors as to why they aren't selling comics. Digital comics is a big reason. Digital comics are completely destroying the physical industry. A big problem is that newer comics don't sell as much because they lack proper advertising (Disney won't put money in a dying industry) so they get cancelled before they get put into digital retail. Again, the lack of advertising adds to it. There are cases where artists are funding their own campaigns for comics despite not getting royalties. Another reason is that they are flooding the industry with too many revamps, spin offs and cross overs and it gets way to expensive and daunting for fans to get into a series when they need to buy all these other books just to keep up with the plot which can get expensive. I also read that they rotate artistic teams and basically putting art on the back burner to story lines so the art loses some of it's touch. Which I could understand, like I don't think Junji Ito would be so great if it wasn't Junji Ito's art. The reason why they aren't doing comic cons as much is because Disney doesn't want to give money to independent events, they want to hold their own cons where they want to make the money. I know that a lot of the diversity story lines like Spider-gwen and the Morales or what ever his name is, black spider-man are fairly popular. But they, of course, only sell in comic shops that sell them. Some comic shops refuse to sell them because they think it'll upset to core comic book fans. But over all the idea that forced diversity and SJWs are ruining Marvel's comic sales is complete and utter bull**** that is literally propaganda created by these anti-diversity, probably racist, conspiracy theorists. Which was my whole point, that his idea of SJWs is and blaming them for America's problems is blatant propaganda by people who are really causing these problems. And him unfairly finger pointing like that makes him a part of the problem. But this is coming from the dude that tried to tell me he's not privileged, that he's so poverty stricken and disadvantaged despite not knowing what food stamps looks like and spending more time worrying about getting ****ed up and buying exotic animals than how he's going to survive.

To be fair, Marvel does kinda have a diversity quota. Pretty much every major series has a sassy gay stereotype shoehorned in, like those old '70s flicks that thought they were so progressive because they had token Black dudes busting dance moves while the cheesecake hero saved the day.

****s gonna look real bad in hindsight.

That's Disney in general. And yeah, I do think a lot of changing the gender and race of heroes is dumb. Or at least when it seems way too forced. But his idea that SJWs are the ones who are bringing down the comic book industry has no validity to it, no evidence and comes completely from alt-right types that are just trying to spread propaganda. Comicsgate.

He also tried to claim that colleges are breeding SJWs that he feels are trying to censor free speech the same way they do in the UK. He specifically said that it's black sociologists feeding resentment into students. Of course there is no actual statistic to back this up, and the only sources I can find on this is unsurprisingly PragerU propaganda videos from Jordan Peterson and Ben Shapiro or websites like one called "concernedconservative". Typically when I search for the influence that college has on creating radical SJWs, it's about liberal teachers who are afraid of the culture the SJW crowd is creating. It's completely ironic to me as well, because all that the SJWs are doing is exorcising their free speech. And these people like Shapiro are feeding resentment into their audience with propaganda to justify hatred towards liberals and promote the censorship of the left. Being PC is conservative. Censorship comes from conservatives. How can people be so quick to forget that the right has spent the previous two decades trying to censor movies, games, music and just art in general while now they are literally trying to censor the press? So while I agree that the more obnoxious SJWs are annoying and can be very detrimental towards healing a cultural divide, what I see is more of the right wing minds feeding into the divide for profit by misrepresenting facts and over-inflating the presence and influence of radical leftists. If you really want to look at who's causing the most problems just look at our government. You can easily find the more absurd leftist ideas on the internet, but you really can't find these cringey radical social justice twats in office. Bernie Sanders, Hillary, Obama, none of these people stood for or represented the ridiculousness of the worst liberal ideas. While the more isolationist, racist, bigoted and homophobic ideas that come from the worst parts of the right are actually represented in office and are actually trying to implement these ideas into legislation. Sarah Palin, Donald Trump, Jason Spencer, etc.

More for venting than convincing. Might sound ironic coming from me, I guess. I'm just sick of hearing idiotic bull**** claims made by people who can't think critically enough to question the bull**** information shoved into their brains because it's easier to unquestionably hate a scapegoat and point fingers. The problems with our government, our corporations, our education, our cultural divide, our medical system or our wealth distribution is not because of SJWs trying to force you to identify them as unicorns or because of safe spaces. They're symptoms of our current state of capitalism being perpetuated by those that benefit off of it and are convincing you to hate and disregard those who challenge that same system that they benefit from.
