You can also crash cars sober. The private automobile and our obsession with making it the only way to get around is the crime. If people gave af about safety, beauty, and the environment there would be free and easily accessible, convenient public transportation.

in a round about way i get where you're coming from but it doesn't excuse drunk driving. it's pretty simple to not drive while drunk. call a friend, a cab, get a bus, walk, or stay where you are. there is no need to get behind the wheel and risk the lives of other people. i don't care about what someone wants to do with their own safety, but it's not ok to put the lives of others on the line for no reason other than your own selfishness

I don't even think people should be necessarily doing time for drink driving though. Repeat offenders yes but the conviction, court case and financial costs are enough for a first time offender depending on the severity of the offence imo.

Going to jail for driving without insurance even if you crash is ridiculous especially if it's a first offence.

It was a pole underneath a bridge. Probably not that much, my car took most of the damage, and the damage wasn't THAT much to my car anyways. Although I did have to take it to a body shop and get it repaired.
