Officially, yes I am. Not a practicing one, but I am Catholic.

Oh. Well you can see how I would think a comment like "**** you you Protestant whore" might be directed at me. :D Carry on.

Aren't you an atheist? Do you believe in the tenants of Catholicism?

Where do they live?
No of course I don't believe it but neither I bet do millions of people who call themselves Catholics. I was christened as a Roman Catholic, and unless I do something legally (if it can be done) to change that (which I wouldn't as I believe that would be an insult to my parents - well, my mam, **** my scumbag and thankfully now dead dad) then I remain one until I die.

And maybe I'll get in on that little technicality. :pssst:

tl;dr You don't have to believe to be a Catholic. Ask any random Irish person.

This is a dumb Catholic thing. We kinda view ourselves like Jews.

No, this is true. You are however very nice over there. And there. And ... there? No, you're not nice there. But there, there and there, your personality cannot be faulted.

That just means that you were raised as a Catholic. If you leave the religion you don't have to consider yourself a part of it. Unless the Irish government documents baptisms, you're good as far as a census goes. I was christened myself as a child, my family is Christian, but I'm not a Christian. Does that make sense?

And I'm sure that your parents would be more disappointed by you not practicing Catholicism than saying it out loud.

Ask any random American and you'll hear a lot of stupid ****. I assume that most places are similar.

Death to dumb tribalism.
