She's been forcibly confined to the psyche ward half a dozen times, attempted suicide, whored around, wasted my child support on tattoos and booze ... and the judges still think it best for a child to be with their mother over their father, regardless of the circumstances. This is life.

My own son also grew up with two homes, but luckily things were done pretty amicably:both homes were in the same city and my son was with me on alternate days. Well, that was until the mum decided to take him to a different town. He was about twelve at the time: he tolerated it for nine months, then insisted that he come and live with me instead. So don't lose hope, [MERIT], you may get more parenting time furthur down the line.

^ Yep, this is another family scenario too. As for me, Roger Waters clearly met my parents once because he described their undramatic marriage so well:-

^ I'm fine now thanks TH, and years ago I got the better deal: the wife got the house, but I got the child. That's a win in my book!

Yes, parenting by phone is heartbreaking. The absent dad is in a no-win situation:-
i) your child is happy and answers every question with "u-huh" and "ok" so you are left frustrated and jealous
ii) your child is unhappy and you are left furious and impotent.

He's 8, and not a fan of talking on the phone. Hoping the future holds better things.

You should take him camping so you can bond while capturing Bigfoot.

^ Yeah, boys of that age just aren't naturally talkative, so a phone conv is always going to be a bit unsatisfactory. Treating him well is the best thing you can do at the moment: I'd also recommend resisting the temptation to bad-mouth the mother too much. That just generates a tension that the boy is too young to handle, (though I'm ashamed to say that I did it a few times myself).

At one stage I also had a lot of nice Lego-building sessions with my son, plus visits to all the local parks. On rainy days we had HotWheels races: buy a bit of pipe, prop one end up on books, divide your cars into two teams and take turns letting them run out the pipe and across the floor. Winner of course is the car that gets the furthest...

woke up early and came online for a bit, then went back to bed and woke up and went and cut grass for a couple hours. then went to hoop at the school/park. wanted to run but some other lady was running and i didnt want to ruin her vibe i guess, so i didnt run but i wanted to lol ill run tuesday

its the parents yard and its about 1 acre big 3/4 acre in the back and then the front yard :/

this was the time i was saying to myself, man i should have gotten a rider mower, but its a nice workout too. 7700+ steps.. then i got a bunch from hooping, im over 15k steps today. going to try and do a personal challenge of 10k steps for a week and then screenshot it :cool:
