$10,000 is the total expense everyone cites in Florida

It includes your insurance going through the roof.

DUI’s have to be disclosed on many kinds of job applications here for life. All state and county jobs. It’s really hard to get a teaching job even if your DUI was years ago, for example.

The standard fine isn’t going to be $10,000. That’s the whole enchilada.

If I have to just pay 2 grand and lose my license for that long, that is so fucking okay with me. First offense, I got in trouble when I was 18 for paraphernalia but as far as a real first offense, this is it. I'm counting my blessings and hoping for the best.
