I had to google the translation. Not sure the term is really the right one.

You can recreate that much more safely on an elliptical.

You know damn well that ellipticals these days have shoddy quivers and whisker biscuits.

I also tried running backwards. I had a History teacher back in school who used to swear that it is a great thing to do to build up muscle. But it is hard as heck and you have to really watch out for bikers.

^ Also clever. I wonder how far you run, Lilja, (forwards) ?

Elliptical Forward vs. Reverse for Muscles

Quote:

Depending on whether you pedal forward or reverse on the machine, you can emphasize different muscles. Alternate between pedaling forward and in reverse to work all your leg muscles in one workout.

^ Oh, right! Not knowing what an elliptical was, I thought you were making some sophisticated observation about ergonomics/geometry. Thanks for the clarification.

Yeah. I went to the Y and was like “oh cool stair steppers”

no no no no

Sort of like station wagons became SUVs.

^ HaHa ! And that sequence started with the "shooting brake": my aunt was the proud owner of one:-

Ellipticals are fun! But I prefer running outside. Much more fun, fresh air, and it's free. And if I joined a gym, I probably would have an excuse why I couldn't go. With running outdoors, there really is no good excuse for me not to.

The longest forwards I have run is a half Mara I did last month (21k). And which I quietly threw up after since I drank way too little water.

I am currently training for a 10k and a fun run called Tjurruset since its coming to my area and I always wanted to do it : https://youtu.be/-HSKcWDpx1w

Just fun training for different runs. Makes you feel like a pro :)

What's the longest backwards you've run?

I would think winter would be a pretty good excuse in your part of the world.
