It got so bad that when Christmas came, and our customers would give us booze as presents, and the office divided everything up, I would take nothing, because I knew it would only go down her throat, and the less booze in the house, the better for her. And for me. She was a mean drunk. Terrible.

I think much of that turned me off drink, or at the very least reinforced my dislike of it when I could see firsthand the damage it caused.
It's been said before but you're a good brother. I can only hope that my family is as altruistic as you when my body fails.

Thanks man. That means a lot. I still don't get it though: who would leave their sister to fend for herself when faced with such a life-changing illness? I just did what I think/hope any decent brother would do. Shrug.

I have

It used to be they marked your hand with this dayglow marker so you couldn’t go to another donation spot

Now you need ID and I think one more piece of proof of your address like a bill or something

They play the TV real loud so if that drives you crazy use headphones and loud music to drown it out.

You also gotta piss in a cup.

People suck. I feel like a lot of people wouldn't do what you're doing.

That came true last night. I'd given my former tenant this weekend to clean up his mess. He appeared last night, cherry picked a few belongings he wanted to save, and walked away leaving the entire disgusting sty, fecal matter and all for me to clean.

He sent me a message terminating our friendship instructing me to never contact him again and effectively stated that he has no intention of paying his delinquent rent, ultilities, cleaning crew fees, fire damage, insulation repair, lock changes, or any monies at all. He then began texting my coworkers offering to get together for drinks to tell them that I started the fire and what a bully I am.

I'm going to make a few calls this morning for my safety. First a locksmith, then a quote from a cleaning service to attach to tomorrow's lawsuit, and then I'll need to phone the court to start the legal process.

He even went so far as to steal all the light bulbs in the attic so I'd have trouble photographing their sty in pitch darkness for the court.

Wish me luck. I'm about to sue a family of lawyers.

Not surprising

As a person with poor credit I’m surprised he doesn’t know better. You don’t say anything and you of course never acknowledge that bills or charges actually exist. Save the text.

From your pictures I doubt you’re entitled to anything beyond the security deposit. It’s a mess but not intententional vandalism.
