-My boss is one of the coolest people I've ever worked for. He's tough but can be your best friend as well.
-I've gotten two pretty good pay raises in the year I've been here. I walk to and from work which doubles as my work out for the day. -my coworkers are some of the coolest people to work with as we are all pretty big nerds who love talking games and stuff of that nature. -I can show my tattoos wit out my work making me feel bad for them. I thought for sure when I got hired, my knuckle tattoos would be an issue. Turns out people love it. -the customers are what you'd expect in a retail setting but I've probably had more meaningful conversations with them than I've had with other people. -allowed me to save a pretty decent chunk to prepare for when I move out on my own again. Fortunately I really don't need much so saving isn't really that difficult, even after bills. -getting this job has allowed me to not only perform better in public as a person, socially, but in a lot of ways, the way my boss works has taught me more about myself in general than any job has ever done. - i typically work mon - Fri and have always gotten at least 38-40 hours since I started. I get a lot of overtime, willingly, since I love to work and stay busy. Happy? I could continue. |

I just wanted to make sure that you can say something beyond "I like my job, it's not my fault that you hate yours."

Yeah, I liked my job of almost thirty years to the extent that I didn't always hate it - though there were times when I did - but I'd have ditched it in a heartbeat if I'd won the lottery, no doubt about that.

You know, I'd agree with that. Now that I'm (technically) unemployed, or at least have no real structure I have to follow, I do have to create my own. Whether it's watching certain things on telly, going to the shops, writing, playing music ... whatever it is, I don't like to just sit and stare into space. So yeah, we definitely all need some sort of routine or structure to follow.
Mind you, I'd be prepared to try lazing on the beach with several million in the bank! I think I could manage that for a while.
