Yeah I'd have to agree. I worked for almost thirty years in the same job. There were days I really thought it was okay, and many days I hated it. I would doubt I could however point to even one day when I would have said I loved it. I couldn't imagine many people thinking this. Exo's job, now, that's a different story. Gotta be easy to love working in a record store, or in Batty's case, his dream job no doubt, a comic book store. But UPS? Fine if you do love it, but I can't see it. You mean you get up every morning thinking "Oh how great! Another day of work! Can't wait!" ??

If we are lucky, life has many mild satisfactions to offer. If Kiiii has fallen in with an agreeable team of people and can make a contribution that he is pleased with, I'd say, "Good for you, Kiii." What's the alternative? An ineffectual rage that keeps you awake at night?

That's not loving your job, that's delusional, quiet desperation. That's how you become a soul sucked husk at 40. Or just become boring.

Now you're just taking words out of context. I wake up every morning looking forward to the day because of how much I enjoy my job. Is it so bad to be on the other side of the spectrum where working is actually rewarding? If I said I hate my job, would you all feel better?

Ask anybody close to me and they'll tell you how often I praise my employer and express my enjoyment of it.

I do love my job. Obviously it has some stress associated but my current situation is perfect. I literally walk like 15min to get to work from where I live. I'm losing weight and I'm saving a lot. So yeah, I'd say I do love my job, the people, and the work.

And TH, just because you worked 30 years at the same job doesn't mean you couldn't have spent those 30 years doing a job you loved.

Do you love your job for any other reason than to avoid hating it?

Does your smile reach your eyes when you do?

Well...it is, for me. I don't go to work with the preconceived notion that I'm going to have a bad day. That's not good for anybody.

You want a list?

Yup.

I love my job too. I don't wake up excited to go to work in the morning because work is still work and I'd always rather not be working, but it's just the right mix of challenging and fulfilling, and I feel perpetually respected and appreciated by my employer.

Frownland 04-11-2018 12:51 PM

I like what I do, it's dynamic and interesting enough. I hate my job to cope with how immoral it is.

Everyone employed person on here would quit their job if they won the lottery.

If you deny it you’re lying.
