And on a related note I think my boss is trying to replace me. For almost three years I've been the one guy willing to work at 6am just about if not every single day, and it's kept my hours up even though I'm really not that great at my job. Then some bitch who is my kryptonite decided to start informing on me for eating food I didn't pay for and now all of a sudden my boss is hiring somebody who should "help out" with my position on busy days and allow me to have actual days off, while also training a pre-existing employee to do much the same. There's no way on earth I'm not seeing this as potentially me getting fired at some point. **** it. Good luck to my boss for finding someone else willing to wake up at 4am six days a week. Hell, maybe my job is secure if I keep my head down a bit.

Morally it probably is a wash but I’d definitely rather have a beer with a fast food worker. I could flip burgers. I’d commit suicide before I sold timeshares. Real talk. I’m not exactly sure why I find it so especially repugnant. On technicalities it’s as morally justifiable (and unjustifiable) as many jobs. I think it’s because you would have to be a genuine piece of **** to make quota. It’s the human interaction aspect. A guy could design chemical weapons and I’d think that’s a piece of **** way to make a living but I could still converse with him. A dude says he sells timeshares I’m immediately thinking this guy is the type who is always working an angle to **** everyone, including me, over.
