Our conversations are so light now. Kinda like in the early days. Zero stress, zero baggage, just best friends of 38 years keeping tabs on each other and making each other laugh. We were like zombies, sleepwalking through a marriage - so burdened by all of the negative crap of the last 10 years that we couldn't see the forest for the trees. We were doomed to end up a couple of old people hating each other (I can clearly remember my grandparents being like that when I was growing up). I give her major props for having the huge gonads to step off of the crumbling cliff. I love her way more today than I did 3 months ago. I can tell she feels the same.

Divorce is so often the best choice but pride can be blinding. I know your kids are grown Chula but so many couples try to stick it out "for the kids" and it's rarely a good move, that's the kind of house I grew up in, with my dad and stepmom absolutely hating each other and we kids grew up watching them get more and more bitter and spiteful, and they'd often put us in the middle of it. It's nice to see how real adults handle divorce lol.

I’ve known adults who got upset when their parents divorced. Sensitive little bitches.
“What about Christmas?” Christ. The **** people care about.

Lol nah. It was just a bad tantrum. His parents said they have taken him to a psychologist in the past for similar self harm behaviors and she said it's an early indicator of anxiety but not uncommon. Kids touch their penis to calm themselves down (which he does do a lot) so it seems to us this was more about trying to get a reaction than actually intending to do himself harm (there was no lasting damage). Not all that different from kids hitting themselves or pulling their own hair, etc. At any rate they gave me today off, so.

Probably a lot easier to handle divorce in your late 50s than in your 20s or 30s when sex, money, or violence is the determining factor.

I'm just gonna reemphasize that I'm pretty sure that guys absolutely at no stage in their lives ever really think about, let alone actually harm their penis. The health and well being of our dick is actually pretty high on our shortlist of concerns and we want it to be happy and successful, and that's not even a joke. There's a reason some guys name their penis. If that kid is attacking his dick then that sounds like something far more worrying than attention seeking, and you should probably seek a second opinion pronto.

Interesting, mlm, this kid is also uncircumcised. I hear your concerns batty, and I'm definitely not brushing it off. He hasn't seen a psych in a couple of years and I talked with his parents this morning and recommended they take him back.
