The doctors will be able to diagnose and prescribe the correct medicine with absolute precision. I know it’s super scary and you love your brother but he’s young and going to be fine. They’ll prescribe the same course of medications as anyone else who presented the same symptoms plus they’ll run an extra battery of tests to double check.

He had to call an ambulance. I'm terrified for him because he has autism and has severe sensory issues; he must be so overwhelmed right now with all of the nurses prodding at him. Since he's non-verbal it's doubly stressful when these things happen, as we cannot know for sure what his exact symptoms are as he can't express them like you or I can. (They're still doing tests; he's been sick with the flu, like I was, but I'm so worried-- people have died from the flu this year. If something were to happen to him it would destroy me.)
Damn, that sucks. Hope he gets better.

It's amazing just how one little thing can make your day so much better. There's this twat I work with almost every day, first thing in the morning. She's just awful and I suspect has some kind of personality disorder she covers up by being friendly in a way that seems phony as hell. And today, SHE'S OFF WORK WOO WOO! Apparently all I need to feel way better about working a minimum wage slave job at six in the morning is one less ****.

On the way to the hospital. He's in the ICU with a breathing tube. Something about his heart (couldn't hear my dad on the phone that well)

Wow, that isn't good. I hope your brother recovers. How old is he?

26. His health has not been great for the past few years though. (Most recently: obesity, possible sleep apnea, fatty liver, constant extreme fatigue) at the hospital now. Same hospital my best friends mom died in so it's definitely not my favorite.
edit: he's septic and has a fever of 105.

Well, that was a fun day!
In the middle of typing a reply to Frownland in this very thread, everything began to crawl and then finally stopped. Computer hung totally. No choice but to reboot. Once I did, nothing would work. Booted into safe mode, ran virus and spyware checks, nothing. Tried restore, no dice. Was supposedly "recovering files" for about two hours before I gave up and shut the machine off again. Got my Windows installation disk, tried Repair. You're joking, mate! Finally had no choice to but to totally reinstall Windows, which meant reinstalling all my old programmes, getting the likes of Spotify back up running and basically being a big pain in the arse. Finally finished about 3am.

I tell you, I've ****ing had it with Windows. I'm now looking into Linux, because I am tired of being subject to the tyranny of Microsoft and their ****ty system, but it (Linux) looks very daunting. I know I spoke of this before, but if anyone has any practical advice for me vis a vis Linux I'll be happy to talk to you.

Aside: having no other choice after reinstalling Windows I had to use Internet Explorer to get online. It tells me it's out of date, and I have to download the latest version, 11. So I do that, and what happens? "Microsoft has protected you by blocking this download"!!!! ****ing thick ****s blocked THEIR OWN SOFTWARE from downloading! Says it all really. Now SP1 won't install for me. **** you, Bill Gates. **** you to hell and back. I'm done with you. As soon as I can, you're getting kicked to the kerb.

(Ten years later, Trollheart says to himself: "I really should look into Linux. This is the tenth time this year I've had to reinstall"....)
