Today...I was driving my dad's car and the CD player's broken. I listened to the radio. I feel weird about it...but I really gave that song "How to Save a Life" by the Fray an unbiased listen...and for something getting heavy rotation on safe, commercial, bland-crap-for-people-who-don't-really-care-about-music radio...I think it's pretty decent. Also: finally listened to the lyrics in Tom Petty's "Freefallin'" and I think they're kinda dumb.

They aren't dumb if you're Jerry Maguire.

Today I fell asleep with my girlfriend, had a saxophone lesson, completed segment two of driving class (license this weekend/next week!) and ate the best salmon in the world.

so today i went to work, came home, watched TV for a bit, and saw a commercial for international volunteer programs. So, instead of south america, i am now going to cambodia to volunteer in an orphanage or similar for 8 weeks or so, and then hopefully traveling that area of the world for a month or so afterwards. i work so much better when i make spur of the moment decisions, thinking things through has never worked well for me.

^well, i've always wanted to see cambodia, this way i can actually afford it, and have a really interesting experience on top of that. and hey, i've been INSANELY lucky to have the kind of life i have, so it'll be great to feel like i'm doing a little bit to help out other people. but i'm already SOOO excited about this, with south america, i kind of mulled it over for a few months, "well, maybe i'll go here, it might be interesting to do this or go there...." but with this, as soon as I saw that, my thought process was "hey, that would be really cool to do, and i could probably go somewhere farther away since it'd be a bit cheaper...somewhere in asia would be cool, hey, here's one for cambodia, that sounds great!" i always know that its the right thing to do when i can make big decisions like that stupidly fast.
