Got my son for the first time in 2 weeks. His face lit up when he saw all of the presents for him under the Christmas tree. Made tacos for dinner. Watched American Ninja Warrior [his favorite]. Damn, I love this little dude. And when the cat takes a nap on him, I swear it makes my heart smile.

I had knee surgery a week ago (torn acl, meniscus, and damaged cartilage). I've been in a recliner resting in pain for the past 8 days. Today I finally asked my lady to take me to walmart to get some Christmas shopping done. The only cool part about that is that I got to ride around in one of the electronic buggies. Not as cool when you're actually injured. Between the leg cramps and the chaos at walmart, we cut the adventure short and went home. Now I'm laying in the same recliner waiting to take my pain meds so I can finally go to sleep. I got about another hour before I can swallow some more pills. |

I tell my work that I was helping a friend move and slipped down a u-haul ramp.
The true story is that a friend and I drank far too much bourbon and decided to have a wrestling match in my living room. He attempted to take me to the ground, and my left leg slid with the movement but my right leg stayed stationary, which caused my knee to bend in a direction that it is certainly not supposed to. We heard the pop and I felt the pain. no bueno. |
