I went Kayaking today. Started out at a river which has really crap water by our standards, we didn't want to fall out, so naturally a couple of the people I was with fell out. We mucked around for a couple of hours in crap weather, doesn't sound like much fun but we played some games and pissed of some rowers which made up for the weather.

Then we went to an indoor pool and had a crack at rolling our kayaks, pretty big mission at first but I eventually got the hang of it. The oars help a wee bit even though most of the work is done from inside the kayak. Having no oar is another story though, you tend to get disorientated being upside down under water with nothing to hold onto.

Sweet day anyway, gonna sleep like a log tonight and get up to do it all over again tomorrow.

I was pretty worried, after hearing quite a few horror stories of other skiers knee problems, just general wear and tear that over time develops into some serious problems. So after a few pokes and prods and some questions, it was determined that i have patella femoral syndrome. Basically, your kneecap is supposed to move up and down in a groove in your knee, and my outer quad muscles have developed a WHOLE lot more than the inner quads, and so they've pulled my kneecaps out of place. So now I've just gotta ask my physio therapist that i'm already seeing for my shoulder for some exercises to strengthen the inner quads, and i'm sweet. yay for not having fu*ked knees! i've got a few good years left in me after all before i'll need shiny new robotic ones!

Woo, would've been ****ed if you couldn't ski anyome, you wouldn't be...well, Jibber.
My day was quiet, been watching 24, playing games stuff like that. My feet are cold.

nah, i'll be fine, all i've gotta do is go to phsyio, and do the exercises every day. That should correct the problem, all i've gotta do is strengthen my inner quads so it balances out, and worst case scenario, the physio doesnt work and i get surgery, which would blow some fat sweaty monkey balls, but hey, at least i wont end up being unable to ski.

^****, sounds like you've been having a rough time, not good :(

my day was spent being hungover as SH*T after going on a HUGE bender last night. fun as hell though, my buddy definitely knows how to throw a good party, but the champagne pong (or "champong" as we called it) definitely was a mistake, haha. So i rolled up at 10am for my 8 hour shift, definitely still drunk. the entire day was just brutal, and yes, i'm well aware that i brought it all on myself. The good thing was that my manager was just as hungover as i was so she was more than happy to slack off all day and didnt expect much. she even let me go hide upstairs and sit down for a little while. gotta love working in a ski shop.

ok, you're obviously drunk, haha, and upset, and normally very cool, so i'll let that go, but yeah, drinking helps tons with ****ty situations, which is why i went so overboard last night, hey it worked though, i was in a great mood all night

Loser 01-27-2007 07:25 PM

Is that normal for him to be drunk and typing or is it just once in a blue moon.
