How can a day start off like this and go bad?

Deal drugs during your shift like a normal person.

Picked up my new car today. Though I won't be able to drive it until the 7th, so I'm holding off on the official announcement. But driving for the first time in over a decade will be absolutely life-changing for me.

On the way home from the dealer I got stuck behind a bus - one of the very busses I have take to work each day. It's 3 hours of my life every day just standing at stops and riding them. I can't tell you how happy I was to be stuck behind that bus.

I don't get why people are rude and mean to their servers at restaurants. Are they that ignorant? Why would you want to piss off the people who prepare the food that you plan on ingesting? You know how EASY it is for them to fuck with your food?

I wanted a 2008 Civic but the five that surfaced online were each pre-auction vehicles and sold within minutes of listing. I ended up getting a Subaru Impreza 2.5i which is equally economical to maintain and has all-wheel drive which should help with the Buffalo winters. I'll post a pic once I've passed the road test.

Today was really exciting. I participated in a Finnegans Wake reading machine event at the local contemporary arts center and followed that up with a yoga class at the city's Botanical Gardens.

The reading was a fantastic networking opportunity. I watched a semantic word vector computational analysis of the text, then I met the director of Waywords & Meansigns whose open source web archive showcases musical interpretations of Joyce's work. I also met a local artist who invited me to join the city's Finnegans Wake reading community. I was filmed reading the Wake and the finished project is set to tour France in the months ahead.

Yoga was an equally enjoyable experience. Just learning to breathe was an important step which will prove useful each and every day.

Hooray for new experiences!
