Homeopathy has a very powerful marketing force behind it that has made it so that people think that homeopathic is a synonym for healthy. It's similar to the push for organic foods or the fear surrounding things like aspartame and gluten. People usually mean well when they use or avoid these products, but yes they're morons.

I imagine homeopathic treatments are often more expensive, actually. Not sure if it would be the same for pets, but I remember back when my mom would drag my brother to questionable "naturopath" doctors, the prescribed treatments were often extremelyyyy expensive. Especially when you include all of the ridiculously overpriced supplements that are often prescribed alongside it.

Being related to naturopaths sucks. My parents buy a lot of supplements from their chiropractor and they will not believe that they're drinking snake oil by the gallon no matter what I say or which studies I show them. Well, they might believe me once their dumb asses hear about it on Adam Ruins Everything .

True. Most of the brush in my town burned up last summer, it's just about back to normal with all the extra growth.

Ugh I know; my mom doesn't care about what any scientific study says either. Ancient, poorly researched books at the library about how gluten causes autism are WAY more trustworthy!!! If it's in a gimmicky book or TV show it is 100% true. Clearly the solution here is to print out a glossy newsletter with a little picture of Dr. Oz's (or some other popular guru) head on it so that it's more trustworthy for them. And chiropractors terrify me, personally.

RE: California wildfires, I live just south of Lake County where Middletown was turned to ash a couple summers ago. If you could keep destruction and ruin south of the bay that would be great.

I design fire training facilities and have never come across a need for it here in the midwest, but we're working on a modular solution for fighting forest fires. It really doesn't get a lot of attention like the residential/commercial areas do.

Thank god I live in the South but not so far South that we treat cancer by hitting it with a stick. We trust doctors just cause we'll be damned if we trust any of that Left Coast witchcraft.

I guess that's their choice, but they shouldn't visit it on their pets, especially for something as serious as cancer.

It's the same with beauty treatments. Karen's beauty therapist recommends stuff for her skin that is over 70 euro per bottle, and lasts about a month. I don't see any difference between that and the five euro cream she usually uses..
