Most people get married for financial purposes anyway. It's no big deal and you get money. Win win win win.

I hate how people use this statistic. It means nothing. Stupid people marry the wrong person and get divorced. So what? Some people marry someone they love and stay with them. If you only want to see the negative go ahead.

And if they marry for no other reason than love, they're just doing it because society says that's the only way you can love someone. Taxes are pretty much the only logical reason to get married.

I get your point and I don't disagree. I just don't like bat's view on it.

And like I said, if that's how he wants to view marriage that's his choice. I prefer the angle of viewing it as a celebration of love rather than taxes or anything else.

This is about as nuanced an opinion as I'd expect from a wrestling fan. Did your pastor teach it to you at Sunday school or some cringey counselor at Bible camp? Maybe it's just one of those things that redneck families instill in their kids in-between teaching them how to spit tobacco and the dangers of black people.
