Thanks, guys.

I never even knew she was unhappy. She was one of the most vibrant, talented people I've ever known. Part of me just wants to scream, "Why couldn't you tell me?"

When you're that depressed you get really good at faking it. Sorry for your loss.

So true.

It is usually the ones that don't telegraph their depressed emotions so openly that end up going through with it.

Prevents others from gettimg involved to attempt to stop them.

Sorry for your loss PS. There isn't much you could have said to change her mind. Cherish the good memories you had with her.

D&D, whiskey, and then afterwards some Miles Davis. And more whiskey.

So terribly sorry man. Awful when someone dies so young, but as they all are saying to you, don't feel guilty. Chances are you couldn't have done anything to change her mind. Just cherish her memory and live the way she would have wanted you to.

Not only is it awful that she was so young, but so are you, and really, I don't think anyone should ever have to go through that, but if they do, it shouldn't be so young, so I know it'll be really tough for you, but you're stronger than you think, and you'll make it through.

Thanks, TH, and everyone else who has offered support, in this thread and others. Funny how the internet can pick you up sometimes. :o:

Cycling to work this morning and a woman turned left in her car, crashing into me. She didn't look back or user her turn signal. My bike is partially ****ed up and may actually need to be replaced, since it's a carbon frame. We're going to the dealer today to get it properly checked out. The woman is paying for everything. New bike (if necessary) and new helmet.

I am uninjured, though I was going at such a speed that when my forearm hit her mirror, I broke it off completely. Just a small bruise on my forearm. No cuts.

Glad you're OK.

Linda's half sister and her niece are out here for a weeks vacation. Hooked up with them tonight for the first time in about 10 years. Like putting on an old pair of jeans. Immediately fell right into the same old groove.

Yeah. A nice new $1000 bike. I know it's not top of the line, but it's good enough for me. And a new helmet, of course, since helmets are designed for a single impact only.
