I always thought it was weird as a kid. "Congratulations, you did that thing that literally everyone else has done. Good job bucko!"
Celebration = getting ****ed up though so I'm not about to complain about it.

I don't mind them, but I don't obsess over them.
I kind of use them as age mile-markers sometimes - especially decade-based ones - for beginnings and/or endings of projects. I'll be entering my seventh decade next year and so my mind is filled with things to start/end. |
