A friend of mine in Niagara Falls scavenges power station amp meters and other odds and ends, and he builds modular synths and designs effects pedals as a hobby. Today's curbside free find - an original antique Edison Dictaphone.

He was amazed first of all that someone would throw this out, and secondly that the scrappers hadn't gotten to it first. After he adds a belt and restores it, this will be a showpiece in his home of audio karma.

This story made my day.

Oh!! It's wonderful! You must live in a magical land to be able to find things like that casually lying around.

Today:

-Lots of cleaning, lots of new job rejections

-Finally recieved my Skeletor shirt! (Picture here)

-Learned (or remembered, rather) that I will be dogsitting these two idiots for my sister for a whole week next month while she's away in St. Croix for her wedding:

Cam (on the left) thinks that he's a tiny baby and likes to sit in your lap, so yes. He also likes to jump in place 5 feet in the air (over and over) whenever you pour food for him.
Dakota is an elderly catahoulan leopard dog who is not much of a party these days. But she does like to make strange noises while sliding around the floor whenever she's excited about going outside/the humans waking up/etc.

Edit: Bat, they're having a private wedding on a boat-- no one is invited. Which to me sounds like an ideal wedding.

Also private wedding on a boat sounds awesome. I prefer destination weddings with like a max of 6 people as opposed to traditional weddings.

**** me. Three hours til I have to get ready and be out the door. Trip to DC for People's Climate Change March. Gah, I hate DC.

I've had a ladeda day now It's dinner and I don't know what to ****ing get. I can't afford to buy anything, I'm listening to Varese really loud on my stereo. My cat puked on the couch and I have a Uni assignment due in 2 days. Peace?
