The retail buyer job did not work out, so I'm likely going to take a couple different housekeeping jobs instead. (I'm used to it, and I don't mind physical labor) At least as a temporary thing, because I can no longer endure the thrift store for various reasons (they've cut my hours down to nothing, among other things). Medical bills and a recent doctor visit drained me completely, so, I just need something for now. I will gladly take three jobs if I must-- anything to get me out of this infernal house while I wait for my horrible roommate/ex to finally move out. My brother has been here less lately, too; he's been having more rages lately, so my dad is trying to find a part-time male caregiver who he can't accidentally hurt or overpower.
Anyway, one is just a regular house-cleaning job that's very close to where I live; it's a one-story house, too, so it'll be easy and convenient if he hires me. The other is at a nursing home. I was a caretaker+housekeeper at another nursing home last year, too; hopefully this place will be slightly less depressing. (I adore the residents at such places but the atmosphere is so very depressing; they are hardly ever visited, they're bored out of their minds and the staff is always useless.) |

Good luck with that ****. The lower end of the economic spectrum is indeed a depressing place, but at least it's probably fun to ironically flirt with all the funny old dudes. For you, I mean.

Thanks. To me, this kind of work is actually more tolerable than retail/food industry, due to the absence of idiot customers to deal with. And I think the old men were the ones having fun (at the last nursing home I worked at).
I wish I had written down some of the things they said-- the jokes, especially, were so terrible (and nonsensical due to all the layers of dementia + dad humor involved) that I almost wanted to have them cross-stitched and framed. Hopefully I'll meet some interesting ones at this place. A new nemesis, perhaps. (There was one lady at the other place who despised me. Helga. She was 100% lucid and 100% full of spite-- an eldritch abomination, truly. Her own daughter seemed terrified of her. She enjoyed manipulating the poor, sweet older ladies and glaring at people from the opposite end of the hall. One day she turned to me while I was cleaning after 30 minutes of silence and said, "Only sinful women have red hair." before shutting herself in the bathroom. That one was my favorite.) |

You should have loudly masturbated on her bed while she was in the bathroom.
