You are getting pretty close. I also blame the tests in school that just rely on you to remember information for the multiple choice test then toss it out your memory once you have to focus on new information. Some people are better are at remembering information than others obviously. Especially with information that isn't going to be used on a daily basis in their work life.

I do wish the US public education system weren't so terrible; if it weren't, I'd have become a teacher. (There's always Montessori schools, but I don't know.)

The fact that schools completely extinguish any and all natural curiosity/questioning from a very early age and replace it with boredom and memorization (rather than giving them a chance to WANT to learn and cultivating a lively, open environment for such things) does not help.

My friend just got a full time job at a Montessori school. She loves it.

:0 Really? As a teacher or an assistant? Did they do all the Montessori certification courses beforehand? (I saw some openings near me, but of course without Montessori certification one could only be an assistant/helper.)

Why thank you. Fittingly, I ALSO somehow managed to get black candle wax drippings (of all things) on my resume tonight. Because I'm a parody of myself. So now I have to print out new resumes at the library first thing in the morning.

That is so tragic... and at the same hilarious. Best of luck with your interview tomorrow!
