As some of you know Linda was one of the victims of my company getting screwed over in the fall of 2014. She started with the company at the same time as me back in August 1997. She was let go mid 2015 from a job where she was making over $50K a year with full benefits.

Immediately after we had to start paying $500 so she'd have healthcare and then it took her over a year to find a job that's only part time, at minimum wage, and with zero benefits. That along with the 30% pay cut I had to agree to to keep my job has been killing us and was putting a big dent in our retirement saving every month just to pay the bills.

The refi I did recently helped. And today Linda got a full time job at $5 more than minimum and full health, dental, and vision. Phew.

TLDR

Linda got a job!!!!! :tramp::tramp::tramp:

Wow. Getting old is depressing.

Congrats Chula.

All this talk of warm weather is for the birds.

I hate summer and I'm dreading my incoming sleepless nights.

My sleep cycle gets so screwed during the summer.

Thanks DJ.

Had a dream last night that I went to see Enslaved in concert, and they were doing the whole show as a piano duet. There was nothing on stage but two grand pianos, and two guys from the band playing them. The opening number was really good, then I woke up so I didn't get to hear any more.

Heavy wind + 3story house = FML

Go away. Youre loud as ****, shaking my room, and keeping me awake.

CONGRATS, Chula! Awesome news. And I've similar thrills to share with MB!

I’ve kept it under the radar but my job is killing me and I finally took ownership of my situation and realized that it’s all downhill from here unless I take action. I put together a monstrous resume and tonight I applied to fill an opening for a senior IT position with one of the world’s largest tech distributors.

I’ve spent my whole life in the print industry, but all that’s left is a hollow, empty shell of a once-great market. The work environment at my small company is psychologically toxic and thankless and I doubt the company will stay in business if I wait it out much longer.

I have two contacts at the new company - a family friend who worked there for over 30 years, and a relative, the former drummer for Lou Gramm before Foreigner who has been working there happily for many years. Hopefully, they can help me out.

The resume is all killer no filler - an impressive roster of successes directly in the field of IT and communication. And the starting pay is nearly double my present income. It’s a huge career move but I’m not going to let this opportunity pass me by.

If this all works out, I promise you all that I’ll publish the two and a half months’ worth I've written of A Classy B*stard from Nine to Five member journal that I hinted at earlier showcasing all the insanity of the former workplace.

Wish me luck, everyone!

Good luck! And I'm so excited!

Good luck. I work at a brewery and I'm liking it. All my homies get the hook up of free beer. Well, not all. Some. There is a limit to what I can take.
