On my way to the library from the beach I witnessed a spectacular thing. In front of a long line of anxious traffic a woman driving a red vehicle stopped at an intersection during a green light where a sign clearly stated no left, right, or u-turns. The sign was very obviously in her gaze as cars drove passed her. For a few minutes she waited, smiling with the sun beaming off her forehead and hair- these were her only visible features as the rest were obscured by her sunglasses, my vantage point, and my poor vision. Horns honked furiously from behind her and a man- presumably her partner or one of her partners sighed from the back seat to her right side. When the light turned red and cars weren't blocking the route to her destination she whipped around the corner, causing yet another albeit significantly shorter delay for traffic from my path's direction. More horns roared. She sped off triumphantly. I crossed the street. Before reaching the other side, I saw a familiar make of vehicle I never wish to see again- the Nissan Xterra. Especially not in yellow or silver.
