Clearly not my state. Probably gonna be $7.25 an hour till doomsday, unless they can lower it.

Yeah but look at the rent prices in your state. Cost of living is most likely lower than in the places where it did rise.

Duh, but you don't live in a red state that has no desire to meet minimum standards of living. VA might not be Alabama, but I wouldn't be surprised if we're gonna fall way behind New York in inflation if **** continues like it has been. The only thing that saves us from redneck logic is the people who live here but work in Washington DC.

Linda had built a solid career working full time for 36 years without a degree and had risen to a $60K salary with full benefits by the fall of 2014. Then US billion dollar mega-corp decided to destroy our company and go straight to China. She spent a year trying to find work and eventually had to settle for part time hours at minimum wage with zero benefits. In her mid 50s. And after paying into the "system" for decades.
Just not right.

A good buddy of mine has been working on swapping a 302 V8 from a Mustang into his '72 Comet for the last couple of months, we finally got around to pulling the old I6 out yesterday. For our first engine pull it went surprisingly well, minimal spills, only broke a couple of minor things, didn't get crushed to death when the transmission rolled off the jack onto the concrete next to our heads. Jolly good time.
Should be ready for the new engine by mid-February.
