tangential question (that's a shittty situation as is), but what is the consensus opinion on the person someone is cheating with. are they as guilty a culprit in the whole thing

I'd say they are just as much at fault if they're aware of what they're destroying to get what they want.

Except they have no obligation beyond simple "Love Thy Neighbor" decency to not dick you over. Not saying it's not a ****ty thing to do, but LiL is far more at fault for the situation than the dude/dudette is.

Well yeah, but in certain situations if there main goal is to screw you over and they know fully that the person they're lusting after is spoken for, I'd say it becomes their fault.

Was this person actively out to get you? Or were they just all about LiL and you just happened to be in the way?

In my situation, I was friends with him prior to him knowing I was with LiL, but I guess he started crushing on her or whatever.

so this is kind of a thing im going through right now. its a loooong story but basically I recently slept with someone who has a bf. ive been very good friends with her for over a year, and this was a culmination of those feelings weve both been having for a while now.

I did know she had a bf obviously, but I think I feel less bad than I should (objectively speaking this is probably the worst thing ive done to someone); I don't really regret it. But I also don't know if this is just me having a douchebag personality or what. I didn't do it to fuck with this guy, I literally don't know him at all, and Im fairly confident he doesn't know I exist.

While I speak from the other side, it's a pretty ****ty thing to do, especially if you knew he was with her. Though, it also falls onto her for not stopping you from doing what you did, so both are at fault. Which does lead back to my point that the responsibility should be on both parties.

Forgive me for being blunt, but according to you she was a heroin addict. I'd say you made out pretty well by being free of that situation.

This happened after the fact. Believe me, the ****storm that came after is something I'd not discuss with anybody publicly.
