Did you sign up for life insurance? If so you could withdraw some of that and put it into a portfolio and toy around with the market that way. They have four different options and I'm sure since you are later in life you may want to play it very conservative and stick with bonds and other safer options that minimize risk.

Attended my first journalism class today (because I accidentally missed the first) and it was totally awesome. All of my profs have been great thus far, both of my courses are quite interesting, and my wannabe hipster nerd classmates are pretty dandy too.
