Okay, so some of you might know that I collect and play cards from the Magic: the Gathering game.
The company that makes the cards, Wizards of the Coast, has something called "The Reserved List", which is basically a bunch of old cards that will never be reprinted. This makes them rare and therefore valuable.
So, three days ago, Martin Shkreli said he's going to get into investing in MTG. I don't know if it's a troll or not, but speculators over the last two months have been buying out Reserved List cards all over the place already. If Shkreli or any of his slimeball uber-rich friends get into this, shit's gonna get real.
Why did this come to my attention? Because I was just casually browsing around today, and I saw that my Tabernacle of Pendrell Vale, which I picked up way back in the day, has skyrocketed to $1500. I have a ton of Reserved List cards, so I'm more than a little interested to see what's going to happen to my beloved collectible trading card game.
