I'm not saying it's not, I'm just saying it's not.

A sport deals with mental and physical stress, which video games and regular sports do both deal with. You also have to take into consideration the concentration factor, the flexibility factor, the patience factor. All of which are active in a regular sport. And with gaming. |

Sorry dude. Gaming isn't a sport. It's a great activity but not a sport. You may have a case for speed trials but it'd debatable. |

I don't even think that way to take away from how skilled a lot of pro gamers are, because I understand it takes a lot of effort and dedication, but I just don't see it as a sport and don't see why it needs to be considered a sport either. I don't tune into ESPN to watch livestreams and I don't need to see SSB become an Olympic event either.

Physical exertion in gaming: movement of arms and fingers and hands in quick succession. Being able to keep up with the pace of a quick team based game without losing concentration. Skill: This one should be obvious. Individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment: "MLG operates MLG.tv, the #1 online broadcast network for professional level competitive gaming; the MLG Pro Circuit, the longest-running eSports league in North America; and GameBattles, the largest cross platform online gaming tournament system with 9 million registered users across the globe." |

I like sports games because I suck at sports but enjoy them.
