Then we got our boxes and were just let loose to do whatever, chaperoned by parent volunteers. They had a barbecue set up and would cook us food all night too. Then they bussed us back into the city at like 6am. It was a wild time

Considering the drinking age in America is 21, I imagine that would lead to a few arrests.

My college probably has some lame white people **** I'm not interested in, so I'll be attending one or more of the lame white people house parties they have up here.

nah there were plenty of people that weren't 18 at that time. They didn't check IDs or anything. I guess the "safe" part was that it was completely isolated, so getting arrested was pretty much impossible

yeah man it was great. And because we'd been drinking since the ceremony it was just a giant blur. People fighting, fucking and puking everywhere

I mean that if a school and parents did all this, they would all be charged with contributing to the delinquency of minors.

Yeah maybe a culture thing. Everyone here just knows about it I guess and I've never heard of anyone (parents, teachers, etc) protesting it. Kids are always going to get drunk, this is just a means of keeping them off the streets for a night.

There were parents volunteering to watch over an event where their underage kids get wasted and have a bunch of sex?

I mean when I have kids and they become 18ish I dont care if they wanna party and **** a lot but I also dont exactly want to be witnessing it happen

I'm not sure about other schools but at mine they did away with safe grad quite a few years back and now we do grad lockdown instead, which basically just means rather than going and getting shitfaced in the middle nowhere, we spend the night at the school with no alcohol or drugs. I suppose it's a similar idea but I would imagine it's a lot less entertaining than watching everybody drunkingly embarrass themselves infront of teachers and parents.

Well thankfully my parents were not there. I honestly don't remember the parents being around that much, just breaking up some fights. They pretty much just stayed to the outside and intervened if anything got heated, but that was it basically. We roamed free.
