ferry ride, lots of throwing up due to motion sickness.
just before that however, i talked to my best friend from home, whos just started a web marketing company with a few other people. they've teamed up with some major companies and have got contracts to sell their stuff over their website. one of his business partners is a 26 year old who could be retired if he wanted to. a few of my friends now have started their own companies, a few more have just finished their degrees and are now working in office jobs, and have a clear idea of where they're going. It's funny, a few years ago I was the one in my group of friends who knew exactly where i was going and what i wanted to do, the rest of my friends didnt have a clue. now, they're finishing degrees, graduating and starting their careers, or starting their own businesses. I'm bouncing around different continents, picking up the odd part time job when i get to be flat broke again, plan on going to school again but have no idea what i'm going to do once I graduate. funny how things work out like that, haha. |
Trailered my totalled car home today. Will post a pick when I find the camera. The thing that has me a little concerned is there is a lot of blood inside the car and it's not mine.......and I was alone when I fell off the road.

What the hell?? That sounds pretty freaky. Let us know what or who it was if you find out. Do you think it was an animal or a person? My day: I'm reading literature about ATRP (Atom Transfer Radical Polymerisation) which is an extremely exciting technique I can use to control the concentration of radicals in a radical polymerisation via a revesible equilibrium between the growing radicals and the dormant catalyst species. As the catalyst allows you to keep the concentration of radicals low throughout, this suppresses termination, which I know is dependent upon the square of the radical concentration (compared to the propogation, which is directly proportional to the radical concentation). I'm not sure at the moment why you would bother with all of that, rather than just use a very small amount of initiator. It might be to do with wanting to generate a lot of seperate polymer chains, but not wanting the increased radical concentration that goes with it. Or it might be to do with accounting for permanent terminations from other sources by altering the equilibrium to produce more radicals to ensure the monomer consumption goes to completion. Or it might be both. Anyhow, that's what I have been and will be doing today. I hope it was thrilling for you. |
I went to school, and after school I went to the city centre. I bought car-socks, and a scarff. Tonight I'm going to a friend of mine, his best friend just got murdered, so it'll prolly be an emotional evening.

But I didn't know him well at all, luckily, if it's not too selfish to add. |
You said about it a few days ago. A kid near you went missing, then they found his ribcage. That kind of post is quite easy to remember. Probably it was easier for me because it put me in mind of the kids and teachers who died (most of them in slightly weird ways) at my school, so everybody who knew that boy has my sympathies.

^ Knowing the murderer wouldn't mind me that much. It's more the emotional ties you would have had towards the person you knew well.
All I hope is that his stephdad get's some serious punishment! |
