The statistics from the latest Pew Research Poll were highlighted in an article today published by The National Journal.
"Long the dominant group in American religious life, White Christians have fallen below a majority of the U.S. population—and they are moving to the right politically as they recede."
“As the nation relentlessly diversifies, both in its racial composition and religious preferences, White Christians now represent just 46 percent of American adults, according to Pew calculations provided exclusively to Next America. That’s down from a 55 percent majority as recently as 2007, and much higher figures through most of U.S. history.”
The Survey's breakdown of religious affiliation by generation reveals that the largest percentage for both Older Millennials (1981-1989) and Young Millennials (1990-1996) is the group who consider themselves "unaffiliated" with any religious group.

And as childhood indoctrination was the primary means of expanding their flock, it is quite likely that this "unaffiliated" percentage will only grow larger in the generations to come.

Well, sweet. Let's just hope that we can burn those Jesus lickers at the stake within our lifetimes.

Woke up late for work today. It also made my daughter late for work since I had to drive her in. I'm a terrible Dad. On the plus side of things, an old friend is coming in from down south. Dude's a riot. Should be a fun holiday and weekend.

I fall into that group and this sh*t is right, im raising my daughter with no religious influence, she isn't even baptized. it wouldn't bother if she grew up to be a Christian but at least i'll be able to say she didn't learn that sh*t from me.

Sorry I haven't been around much. Busy as sh*t. It'll subside after the holidays.

Pushing about 60 hours a week right now with both my house inspection job and Barnes and Noble. Sundays are my only full day off. I get one full day and one night off a week. It's all worth it though. Every one of these Barnes and Noble paychecks are going towards my trip in the spring. To bad the world went and got itself in a sh*t storm of politics and death. Hopefully it all settles down at the end of April. Right now, looking at a April 25th flight to Iceland. Hooray!
