This. Which is the reason I only know how to play 3 chords. Plus anymore and you're simply showing off.

I guess. I'm not particularly inclined to though, it's a wasted effort given that it's a style of music I don't enjoy.

what if a bunch of people on MB all agreed we would very much like to hear you make a catchy pop song? could that motivate you to make one?

Reading comprehension is a very useful tool.

John Wilkes Booth 10-21-2015 05:27 PM

that's not an answer to my question though... you play music cause you enjoy it... that's one motivation

a bunch of people want to hear you play music... that can be another motivation

I don't think you could write a successful pop song. It's not easy.

That is a motivation indeed, but not for me in all cases. It would only be a motivation for me if they wanted to hear me play my music, not whichever type of music they please. That's kind of what I meant by saying that I play the music that I enjoy.

Need me to explicitly spell anything else out for you?

The marketing game is very dog-eat-dog, I agree.

that's what i'm saying... it's fine to have a niche... just be honest about it

like ori wanted horror stories for his writing competition... i don't think i could write a good horror story so i whined about it to try to get him to change it
