Bottom line: Everything looks clean and healthy.
Oops, spoke too soon. I just got a call to schedule another ultrasound. Last time the prep was no food or drink for 12 hours prior. This time I have to drink 16 oz of water an hour before and then not take a whiz. Maybe they saw something after all.

Either that or the cute technician wants to see my organ again while it's bloated.

You seem to have regular and numerous health issues/accidents. Do you have a poor constitution, or are you unlucky? Or both? Or both and a hypercondriac?

Actually I'd been pretty darn healthy except for a bout with the flu last winter. All of the recent tests are related to me losing some weight and ending up so sick one whole day that I ended up at the accident room.

And the dogs making me splat on the sidewalk is also kinda related becasue of the weight loss and weakness.

Do you have all these medical tests because you need them, or is because your healthcare insurance in the USA requires you to have them?

I had the colonoscopy because I was due once I turned 55 for preventative reasons. The CT scan was because of my sudden loss of weight and abdominal problems. They want to rule out cancers and other things that can cause my symptoms. The first ultrasound was because the CT scan found something on one of my kidneys. The follow up ultrasound is because:

IMPRESSION: Round, well-defined 8 mm hypoechoic lesion with increased through transmission in the lateral aspect of the right kidney corresponding to lesion described on prior CT. This likely represents a complicated cyst. As it is difficult to definitively determine whether this is a simple cyst, consider followup ultrasound to assess lesion stability.

The problem with these tests is that they go on and on but hopefully it will be resolved quickly.

Out of interest due to your age (not saying you're old or anything) but do you worry about healthcare insurance the older you get? Because with my travels in Latin America, I've run across a lot of Americans that have retired to Latin American countries for healthcare reasons in preference to staying in the USA?

Hell you could buy a new transmission for that cost.
