(I still had my hands on the bar so I imagine I broke some of the fall) Messed up the upper two front teeth and the lower middle four were now bent almost completely backwards along with the part of my jaw bone that had broken.

At the hospital they shot my mouth full of painkillers and then an oral surgeon put his knee on my chest and pulled the bone and my teeth back in place. Then I got wired. On the bright side they gave me a large prescription of Darvocet.

Once the initial shock wore off the worst pain was where my lower jaw bone connected to my skull on both sides.

Drank Thanksgiving dinner through a straw that year.

Jesus. That's a horror story and a half.

Quit smoking three days ago. No ciggy cravings so far, but the constant hunger is really annoying, not to mention expensive.
Does it subside after a while?

Yes. The first week is the hardest.

Today Grandpa Chula took another step into the 21st century. Read during lunch using a Kindle app on my LG tablet instead of my usual paperback. Got to admit it was pretty cool.

Hands free and so much easier to "turn" pages.

Good to know.

It'll be a lot easier if you just start smoking again, though.

Woke up and learned the growth on my father in law's thyroid is cancer.. Drank a beer and looked for a job that pays more money..

I can't quit quitting. I've done something that feels a bit serious to my lungs, not serious enough to go to the doctor about, but quitting smoking is sorting them out. I feel them getting better each day. Also, I've been smoking since I was 15, consequently I've never taken a proper deep breath through fully grown lungs. I wanna know what that feels like. Maybe it's rubbish. But I need to know what it's like.

After the first 1 or 2 weeks you are gonna start hacking up all kinds of nasty **** and your breathing will get easier. I smoked for 25 years and finally stopped 15 years ago. So glad I did. All kinds of other **** is breaking down on my body but at least the lungs are in good shape.:p:
