Is there a law that prohibits being an asshole? I think I'd have a life sentence by now if there was.

Actually, in the military, there is. Specifically cooperating with any MP investigation. Failure to do so can lead to disciplinary action up to and including court martial.

Not complying with an investigation I get, but for being a dick? If that's really the case they ought to lock up the egomaniac who made up that rule.

Well refusing to sign my paperwork that would conclude my investigation would certainly constitute as not cooperating don't you think?
