I guess I'm just better than everyone else. Your story reminded me of something that occurred around two weeks ago. I was buying beer at my local liquor store with the best selection. As I was checking out, the cashier/owner and I were exchanging names. When I told him my name was Christophe, he told me to hang on and brought back 2 Kristoff cigars. We went outside and smoked it after my purchase was complete. It was pretty awesome.

At least you were able to enjoy your gift of friendship. I wasn't lying when I said that I had just eaten dinner, but I don't know if I would have had some chicken if I was hungry though. That's a big risk.

Hey Plank, you're from Chicago, right?

I'm staying there tonight, looking for a nice restaurant to treat my guy for driving up there with me. Staying off of 26th near lakeshore. Any reccomendations?

I am sorry to tell you all that even though I transcend time and space, my birth certificate of this planet claims that I'm only 21. Therefore I cannot run for president in 2016. Thank you to everyone who granted me support during my efforts to overturn the constitution. We may have failed this time, but we still have 2020 to look forward to.

Worst case scenario it's laced with drugs. I say go for it.

You gonna do any of the required sightseeing stuff? The observation deck at the Sears Towers is a mind melt.

Speaking of chicken, bought a quart of whole milk (we normally only do 1%) and a few dinner rolls and then forced my way through the rest of the wings from hell. It was outright torture. Took an hour before the pain stopped.

Had forgotten all about it until my morning "session". Fire in the hole indeed!

Sorry.

I'm more south subs, but after a quick peek, I see Acadia is close to where you'll be. I've heard some good things, and the reviews are off the charts. Other than that, Billy Goats is good for some informal dining, which is a bit north of 18th. I'd suggest not going west too far though. It gets a bit sketchy that way since the Cook County lockup is at 26th and California, and the surrounding area is not a place you'd want to be.

@ Chula - I'll be there for less than 24 hours, so I won't do too many touristy things this time around.

Yeah, the hotel we're staying at is not in the best neighborhood, but **** up there is expensive when you book at the last minute. Acadia is closed today I think, but I'll check out Billy Goats, or maybe something up north a bit. Thanks!

Yes, definitely head north a bit. You'll be a short distance from Buddy Guys Legends on Wabash too. Just up Michigan Ave., and they have some pretty decent food. Mz. Peaches is playing tonight (whoever that is), and there's always a chance that Buddy will make an appearance.

Edit: Also, (just thought of this) there's Lou Malnati's Pizzeria on State and 8th. Out of anywhere in Chicago, this is the place to go. Get the deepdish. I always get the sausage and spinach (it's out-freaking-standing, best pizza in the world as far as I'm concerned), but if that's not your thing, you pretty much can't go wrong with any combination of ingredients they use.

Spoiler for pertaining to my journal:
Huh. So hitchhikers do get molested on the road. I guess something like that was inevitable..

Well, I got picked up by some lively Hawaiians right after and that brightened up my day.
