Are you getting compensated for this in any way?

Nice CAD work Plank. I'll post a few of mine on Monday when I'm back at work.

Thanks man. I threw some artsy fartsy CAD stuff in the art thread a while back, but instead of looking for it:

Spoiler for Random CAD Stuffs:
These were all done with R14 AutoCAD (vanilla) about 10 years ago.

For our teams PC backgrounds at Federal Signal Corp.:

Album cover/flyer art for a band I was in a while back:

I got a call a few days ago from a friend of a friend. Apparently, I played guitar with this person, who is a friend of the singer of the K|S|P Project, and he asked me to play at his birthday party with him, where I'd be doing lead guitar duties. I said I'd think about it since I had no recollection of ever meeting the guy. So, last night he was frantically blowing my phone up (because someone else backed out at the last minute) and I finally answered it. I had to ask him just who the hell he was again, and he tried to explain it, but I still don't have a clue. Anyway, I told him to send me a playlist (which he did), and I'll be there ready to play. My dilemma, is that I really don't feel like doing this. Now, I have a list of about 20 songs, most of which I have played before but would have to sit down and learn again, which is quite a few hours of studying, and the rest are songs that I really can't stand listening to, let alone sitting down and learning them. I'm not a professional musician. I have no obligation to do this, other than me telling him I'd show up. If I do this, I probably won't be ready with the entire list, and will more than likely falter on a good percentage of them, but I'll fake my way through it. Also, it's in a bad part of town, and I'll have to be my own roadie, which is never fun.

What would you do?

Keep your word and do the gig?

~or~

Blow the whole thing off?
If you said you'd do it, then you kinda gotta do it, or else you become the guy who doesn't do what he says he's gonna do. Don't be that guy. Shoulda asked for the list first though, I guess.

After a good disc golf day, I'm heading to it right now. I have my good friend with me (dudes huge, and spent 15 years in prison), so I should be good with 2 amps and cabs. I always keep my word.

I assumed you would, and were just venting. I'd never peg you for a flake. If it was me, I'd be annoyed too. $30 to learn a bunch of songs you don't even like? And then possibly embarrass yourself in public when you **** them up? Ain't nobody got time fo' dat.

It was a total waste of time. Just to clarify.
