My performance at the open mic from earlier tonight wherein I learn that you can't bow a wet cymbal. I had to improvise.

You promise that's your video, right? Cause if not the person who did that is gonna be confused and possibly angered at the comment I left.

Seriously though, if I was sitting in the audience I probably would have been bored as ****. I just don't have that love for super-experimental stuff where it's just basically sound improvisation. But being able to turn the video off and on at will, and knowing how long it was gonna be, definitely took the edge off and let me just watch without worrying about just how long I was gonna have to sit and watch this crap.

I don't know how much of that you planned out, how much was just vague ideas that had been floating around in your head before the show, or how much was just popping into your head in the moment, but it was still cool seeing you do your thing. You legitimately made clever and varied use of your instruments, had the confidence not to be flustered when your one thing didn't work, and just seemed to be playing around without worrying about impressing anybody but yourself. You are certainly arrogant, but not in an obnoxious, rock star way, and it obviously serves you well in this context. Wish I could perform in front of people with half the balls you do.

Some of that was legitimately unsettling too, especially when you were hitting the smaller cymbal in the trashcan. The fact that I couldn't see what you were actually doing, due to the camera angle, actually made it slightly mysterious. I'd be curious to hear what you could do with that general mood in a more formal, relatively planned out setting. I also really dug how you just seemed to randomly pull that climax a minute or so before the end---with moving the smaller cymbal over bigger one---out of your ass. Was dissonant and noisy in a most cool way.

However much of your pretentiousness comes from a hipster place, you commit to it to an extent that makes you legitimately odd and original. No matter how much a poseur committed to listening to and playing what you do, they could never do so with as much conviction, so the roots of your "persona" are almost irrelevant. You might be putting on an act with the mustache (RIP), but you're clearly not faking with your music.

Not sure which I liked better, the performance or B-Lawds review.

I may have got myself a job as a statistics tutor for high school kids, $30 an hour for one kid, $45 for two or more. I'll find out for sure next week but seems in the bag! I was meeting another lady in a cafe and I arrived early, running into the woman from the tutoring company who was taking interviews. She had a hunch about me and came over to see if I could tutor and blow me days I can. We had a interview there and then. The lady I was meant to see was helping me with my CV and cover letters.

Also, I have a date confirmed for my laporoscopy surgery on 25th of Feb. My gynaecologist who's a total babe will cut out any Endometriosis in my cervix and then put in a new Mirena (IUD). I am so excited to have this done! Wish me luck guys.

Today I made a delicious pumpkin and garlic soup and also a potato bake, sour cream and chives flavour.

What the **** did I almost walk into?

So, for those of you who don't know, I inspect vacant homes for a living. We recently got a sh*t ton of snow so parking next to these house is a bit difficult because there is no snow removal in the driveways of vacant homes. I had to park a couple blocks away and walk. I've never been in this house before. I got in and realized I forgot my flashlight in my car. The stairs to the basement were pitch black. I needed to get a picture of the hot water heater. I decided to lie and say that the smell of mold, which there was plenty of anyway, was too strong coming from the basement. I needed to document this so I took a photo into the darkness from the top of the stairs.

This is the photo I took. Guys, what the f*ck? What the hell is that? Meat? A mannequin? A f*cking torso? I took one look at my screen and nope'd the f*ck out of there.

What the f*ck guys?

^Dude, what the ****. I fully support your decision to walk away from that. I wouldn't go near that no matter how much you'd pay me. That's the work of nightmares.

Worst thing is that I have to go back every month now. I have to either tell the same lie and take a photo of that stairwell, or figure out something to say to defend me NOT going back in that house.

I've been doing this for years. I have literally been in basements where my flashlight has died. These are houses I know though. It's like my sense of fear is gone sometimes. This however, this is f*cked up.

This sounds cliche, but I'd honestly just face your fear and see what it is. I'm being a hypocrite because I wouldn't do that at all, but you being in the situation that you are, it'd be best to get it figured out sooner rather than later. It could easily be a practical joke that someone is pulling on you.

Or it could be someone's severed head and the body is probably stashed in a closet somewhere in the house.

Y'know, it's anyone's guess.

You should've seen the way my friend and left his house after he moved. It was more of an occult thing as opposed to general creepiness though.

edit: hey, it's the same house in my avatar
