Long as you're not a dick they're cool. It's easy to scope out the dangerous fiends that'll cut you or some **** from the kids that will debate about the street value of pizza peacefully. There's a love and a community that escapes most people who would normally turn their heads when walking by a group that looked like we did. If you're not that hungry, leave a few bites still on the crust for someone who is. When you're that someone, those few bites are the best. If you meet people who understand that, truly ****ing understand that, you met someone who will be the best friend you ever had in your life. Like the deaf guy, pure unadulterated human kindness.

@Bat: They didn't realize it until it was too late. One of the guys had a pouch full of straight weed, the other pouch was laced. We all got higher than we meant to.

I pretty much just woke up from all that and it's 7pm. Gotta be at work by 8 tomorrow so I'm kinda worried. Have't showered yet. Probably smell like toxic waste. My teeth are coated in a layer of grime and my breath smells so bad I can taste it. I'm all itchy.

We were too high to get the regular **** going. I had papers and everything but none of us were coordinated enough to make it happen. The other kids that came by (there were more before Toast) brought some homemade metal pipe thing and whatever that was kept us way more mellow. I think you guys just don't understand. S'not like every bum is some PTSD trippin' loon out to get you. There's a love there for anyone if you look for it.

Alright, but what is this love going to do for you? Are you going to be forty-years-old, lower middle class with a decent apartment, still hanging out with bums and skaters? There are plenty of cool high school kids who I don't hang out with cause... why the **** would I? If you hang out with a certain crowd, you're gonna be that crowd. It's great to recognize something good that society is missing or disparaging, but that doesn't mean you should immerse yourself in it. Birds of a feather and all that ****.

Sounds to me like you're just talking about "happy vibes", which are great for a distraction from the real world, but don't have any long term value.
