I don't know. I just feel like, why draw attention to race in this case? I don't think Pet_Sounds's post was horribly racist, but I'm not really comfortable with it because I don't see the need to talk about race at all - it came off to me as agreeing with mordwyr (or mordwyr's friend?) that Winnipeg sucks because of Natives. My response was a little ill-considered and harsh, but that whole series of posts really rubbed me the wrong way.

Every single drunk I've seen during my time in Winnipeg has been a man. Doesn't mean I'm being sexist by saying that, just pointing out an observation I've made.

I think it's the original...I've had it for years!

I mean sure, and I don't think you're necessarily being racist by saying what you actually said, but when you say, "a lot of the drunks are Natives," you tap into a stereotype that harms that group of people. But again, my main point is just that there's no reason to comment on the racial makeup (or the gender makeup) of drunk people in Winnipeg unless you're trying to reinforce the harmful stereotype.

Well, my day went well, aside from the fact that nothing happened. Did a lot of music listening, worked out a little, chores, and planned for next semester of college. Oh, and I walked my dog into the neighbors yard and waited until he took a big crap all over their fancy bushes because they keep leaving their beer cans under my tires.
