^that sonuds rad dude, stocked for you.
i had a regular day. one of the regulars came by and we talked about blues and R&B for a while. then NPR came on with this segment on prostitution and all the customers were hella uncomfortable for a while. it's funny watching people squirm when they try and wrap their heads around things that never occurred to them. a couple got hella offended and walked out, which kinda bummed me out. the stories being shared were heart breaking and one of the women sharing hers was just so compassionate and honest and smart, it was really great to hear her speak. They had to censor a lot of stuff- not bleep it out but just not talk about a couple things, merely imply them. She was trying to explain how young women considering prostitution/sex working can keep themselves safe but couldn't actually explain everything because most of the things these people end up doing are illegal. Crazy how many hoops these people jump through just to get by on a pretty ancient and pointlessly stigmatized industry of work. The segment on the trans community in the industry was unfortunately short. |

Worked and came home to see that we got a noise complaint letter from the landlord.
I guess the tenants around us just don't appreciate good music. Insensitive bastards. |
I made my butternut squash soup today. Super simple recipe and delicious, but I made it too spicy and no one else will eat it.. *whoops* /evilsmirk
I think next time I want to try adding apples into it for some sweetness. |

Today was the most challenging day I've had as a student and a manager.
My team, dead beats, so I did 87 lbs of forensic paperwork so we as a team can at least pull a b for the practical exam. But nobody shut the hell up long enough for me to make sure it was at 100% so we could pull an a, "Roxy, Roxy Roxy how do you do this, how you do that?!" Then I busted ass at work all night and come to find out someone can't balence a safe...:( So I had to re-balence a safe, cart all my minors home, and I got lost in my own town because I left my glasses in the office...Is it October break yet?! Edit: I think I forgot to eat today. |
