Gold stars, grades, marks out of 10, awards and medals, that's the stuff they use throughout our life to keep us stupid. If the medals came to you doing the things you wanna do and heading where you wanna go, that's wonderful by itself but, seriously, medals are nowt but an arbitary and meaningless confirmation of 'merit'.

Haha. I ain't tryin to rain on his parade. I just don't understand why people get so proud over awards. They're worthless. My mate's daughter, who's 5, removes any gold stars she receives in class and tells the teacher she doesn't need them to feel happy and suggests giving them to someone who needs that kinda thing. Haha. She's an inspiration.

Somehow I think that her medals and scholarship is far more important than a gold star. You know that awards like that get you amazing jobs right? I got a scholarship and have had plenty of work thrown my way. I'm stilling doing more study though.

Popular as an adult maybe but definitely outcasted as a child for bucking the trend of what others consider the norm.

That kid will end up being a miserable ****. People should always celebrate their achievements, no matter how big or small.
