Awww that's so sad. I think it was probably the case with my grandparents. I really want to have that kind of love. My cats who lived at my nana's when we moved, died one after the other as Pippin pined from losing his brother Jaffa.

Poor little kitty.

My grandma had a couple of cats when I was a little girl - they died within weeks/months of each other. The 2nd one to die had some sort of liver disease, but I'm still convinced that he died because he missed his sister so much.

I absolutely agree. I have heard of this so often, it's so sad seeing a kitty mourning for his/her relation who's passed away. My nana's dog used to pine every night at 5pm as that was the time my granddad would arrive home. The problem was that granddad died and the dog would be noticeable upset.

That's exactly why I can't imagine anyone would ever think animals are incapable of emotion, or that humans are so far above them in some way. I look at animals and I see so much love, it almost makes me cry. They are so sweet.

They have to have emotion! Why else would a dog be so protective of his owner? They are incredible creatures, we can't possibly know everything about them. I find myself feeling closer to a cat than people sometimes.

Exactly! Even cats like to cuddle with their parents and siblings when they're sick. I've always felt more appreciation for animals than people; I've always seen more wonder and love in the eyes of animals, compared to most of the dead-eyed people I encounter daily...

Yip, animals give unconditional love, they cuddle you, cats purr and rub against you and they meet you at the door when you arrive home! I'd prefer cats over humans every time. They are better flatmates (they poop outside), they don't leave the toilet seat up, they don't take up much room and they don't leave unclean dishes for someone else to clean up.
